Introduction
Hello! I am Seth TenElshof, a GVSU freshman going for a major in medical laboratory science. I currently am employed as a landscape construction laborer at Rose Landscape Services, and I work about 50 hours per week during the summer. While in college, I hope to work 10-15 hours to still earn a little money.
I am taking this class because one of my high school friends also is taking it. I wanted to have someone around that I was already comfortable working with and talking to.
I have taken three Spanish classes in high school, but in reality, I can't carry on a conversation in Spanish. I don't speak any other foreign languages either.
I have not traveled outside of the US and Canada. We were going to travel to Costa Rica this past summer, but COVID requirements made that impractical.
Out of this class, I expect a positive working and learning environment, and one that makes learning natural and enjoyable.
My pet peeve is people whispering while they are supposed to be paying attention in class.
An interesting thing about me is that I did not own a smartphone until my 17th birthday. My parents wanted to limit my internet usage and keep me off of inappropriate websites, and not having a smartphone helped facilitate that.
This picture is a selfie I took in the Grand Canyon this past summer.
Thank you, Seth, for the post. You and I have two things in common: I have been to the Grand Canyon and it was one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. Everybody should go there. Also, I do not have a smartphone, just a landline and I have never regretted my decision. People often ask me how I communicate with people and I say the old-fashioned way either in person, through a landline or e-mail. I look forward to having you in class and getting to know you better.
ReplyDeleteHey Seth I'm super glad you decided to take this course with me! I'm so sorry to hear that your trip to Costa Rica got canceled, but hopefully you will be able to go once we're through with this pandemic. I've never been to the Grand Canyon but judging by your picture it looks gorgeous, so I definitely should make an effort to get out there. Looking forward to class with you!
